Internet users grew by 1.88 million in October – NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission has said that Nigeria’s Internet subscriber base grew by 1.88 million in October 2024, reaching a total of 134.78 million, up from 132.9 million recorded in September.

This is according to the latest report by the Nigerian Communications Commission published on Wednesday.

The NCC data showed that mobile (GSM) networks accounted for 134.27 million of the total internet users, with fixed wired and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) contributing the remaining subscribes.

The report highlighted gains across major telecom operators, except for 9mobile.

MTN Nigeria led the increase, adding 1.13 million new subscribers to reach 69.52 million in October, up from 68.39 million in September.

Airtel followed, with an increase of 678,219 subscribers, bringing its total to 45.47 million. Globacom also recorded growth, adding 184,887 new users, raising its subscriber base to 17.10 million.
